Captain Robert Thayer, Firefighter/EMT Sam Collins and Firefighter/EMT David Wernet learning and practicing intravenous cannulation and intraosseous cannulation on arm and leg simulators. Our personnel are now into their second month of Paramedic School at Sarasota Technical College and should graduate sometime in February 2019. Southern Manatee Fire Rescue District will be implementing Advanced Life Support-Non Transport Paramedic Program for their citizens by operating ALS-Paramedic Engines. For the next 2 to 3 years, Firefighter/EMT’s will be attending school to obtain their Paramedic certification.
