During the Annual Fall Festival at Abel Elementary, Southern Manatee Fire Rescue provides the school with a gift certificate for their silent auction. Whoever purchases the certificate would be given a fun filled night at our Station 1 and dinner with the firefighters.
On February 1, 2020, the family from Abel who won the certificate enjoyed an exciting night with the crew from B Shift. After a home-made dinner of spaghetti, garlic bread and salad, the family had the full attention of the Southern Manatee crew that answered questions and showed off equipment. Who knows, maybe a future Southern Manatee Firefighter was discovered in that night!
